  2. Twitter Trending Topics

The exciting news today is that Firefox 3.5 has been released — and you should definitely download a copy: bitly.com/firefox35

I got into the office this morning around 7:30, which has been great to see the excitement brewing and how enthusiastic everyone is about the release. Since we do a lot of viral marketing here, we’ve been following twitter this morning and slowly watching firefox rise in the trending topics to #1 (surpassing Michael Jackson!) Please ignore Twitter clipping the “.5″ part of “3.5″ – that’s a Twitter issue not a Mozilla one :)

    Enjoy :)

UPDATE:Firefox 3” and “#fx35” are now listed as #1 and #2 on trending topics as of 9:06AM PDT.

  4. First Two Weeks at Mozilla & Firefox 3.5 Parties

I can’t believe my first two weeks at Mozilla have already flown by.  I started with Mozilla at a pretty hectic time with the launch of Firefox 3.5, but couldn’t be happier to be in on the action.  One of my first projects, with the help of Mary Colvig was the organization of our 3.5 party swag packs.

With the launch of Firefox 3.5 it is a perfect time to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work everyone has put in to this release.  Here’s some of the ways that you can get in on the action by hosting your very own party!

    • Add your event to Spread Firefox (be sure to log in first!)
    • Request some Firefox goodies
    • Let folks know about it by adding it to services like Meetup & Upcoming
    • Writing about it on twitter or identi.ca (use #fx3.5)
    • Post updates, create events or send invites via social networks

Check out our party page for more details on how to be a host with the most! You can also find and attend a party near you.

    Happy Firefox-ing!

  16. Dream Jobs

Dream jobs don’t come along very often. I’ve thought for a few days about what to write in this post, but I still feel pretty speechless. I’ve been fortunate after college to have the opportunity of spending time at a number of great tech companies, however all of my jobs have been ~6 month contracts. I wouldn’t trade any of these experiences – but I feel like the last 3 years have been a constant search for a place to call home.

A few months back I was casually browsing the web and somehow landed on mozilla.com/college which linked back to their original job listings page. I clicked on the Marketing tab, figuring that there would not be any listings until I saw the position, Community Marketing Manager. This is where I got excited. Reading the job description I thought, “no way this is too perfect”. Today, I finally received my written job offer and I couldn’t be happier.

Something that impresses me about Mozilla is their openness. I love that my job will push me to blog, twitter and use social networking more to engage with Mozilla users and the community.

But don’t worry – my website will still continue to include many cute pictures of Aidan and Ryan – technology and Mozilla will just become an added focus.
