In response to my last post, Brock decided to make a lolcat version of Oliver which I just had to share with all of you. Cracked me up this morning!
I hope all of you think this is just as funny as Ryan and I did. Oliver our black-bear hamster recently has fallen in love with broccoli to a point where he got stuck in a tube and just kept on eating. We took a bunch of pictures that I uploaded to a Flickr set here, but the video is just so much more funny.
I spent tonight being generally dorky alongside Ryan and working on revamping rsdoherty.com which is a site Ryan and I registered some time ago mostly for e-mail and to host our wedding website.
A few years ago thrown up a really bad looking iWeb template that just told people where they could find our blogs, but I wanted something that looked a lot more professional and would have a social aspect to it. The site is built on WordPress and uses a modified version of the Textback theme made by Amy & Pink.
Although this site really isn’t someplace you would want to bookmark (unless you are fascinated with seeing where we we are on the social web) it makes for a great landing page, and a beautiful clean design. Enjoy!
This was one of the pieces of candy that I got in my easter basket this year from Ryan. It almost looks too good to eat!
I’m a huge Apartment Therapy fan and with that comes a ton of their other sister sites especially the kitchn. When these little bacon cups appeared in my RSS reader I became giddy. They are so cute! And who doesn’t love bacon? I think I may have to try this out the next time I host a party of some sort.
I just upgraded to WordPress 2.5RC1. The administrative interface and dashboard are amazing and everything just seems so much faster. If you have the ability to upgrade to WordPress 2.5 definitely do it!
Went to lunch with Ryan in downtown Willow Glen at a pretty awesome Chinese food place. I haven’t spent much time in Willow Glen but it is really an awesome part of San Jose. There are great little boutique shops and a great vibe. I definitely want to try to spend more time there.
We just saw these beautiful sunset outside of our apartment. It doesn’t look as great in the photograph but it’s still worth sharing.
This was the first time I ever fed Oliver broccoli. He really liked it. To see the full Flickr set go here.
As of tonight Ryan and I have finished updating my site. Instead of using MovableType I am now moved over to WordPress which will allow much greater functionality, and moreso the ability for Ryan to easily fix/modify the site. On top of the publishing system change, the site now has clean CSS, HTML and works in all browsers. It also has a bit of a tweaked design since the last design update rolled out in March to May of 2006.
I do have to say that this site update was a long time in the making. Ryan and I started working on this site overhaul (okay, just Ryan) around July/August 2007. The site was put on hold for awhile while we spent time on our wedding website and then it was just forgotten about while we enjoyed other non-computer related activities.
I do want to give a big shout-out to Ryan on the site. He spent a lot of time optimizing the CSS, HTML and dealing with me. The site turned out absolutely fantastic and Ryan should be very proud of the results.
So in the end — I hope you enjoy the new design as much as I do.
