I haven’t blogged about this much (or at all), but one of my huge hobbies in interior decorating. This past weekend my fiancé and I just redid our bathroom textiles with more earthy tones (brown, beige and blue). Upon completing the redecoration I realized that out IKEA scale didn’t match the decor — time for an IKEA hack!
I found the pattern for my shower curtain on the Bed Bath and Beyond site and was able to blow it up using a Photoshop filter. The IKEA scale is approximately 9" x 9" but due to only having letter size paper I split the image in half and printed it out on two sheets.
Overall tools I needed to complete this project was:

Once printed I cut out the new design and used doublestick tape to secure it on the scale. I then used clear contact paper (which can be purchased for cheap at Home Depot) to secure the new design in place.
I guess it’s not my week with technology. I just got a new aluminum wired keyboards that Apple released.
The new keyboards require you to do run Keyboard Software Update 1.1 that allows you to take advantage of the special keys on the new keyboard (expose, dashboard, etc.)
It seems that in some instances when you install the Keyboard Software Update 1.1 the expose and dashboard keys won’t work.
I am not alone with this issue: Apple Discussion Thread #1 and Apple Discussion Thread #2
Although some people have resorted to doing an archive and install to fix the issue the easiest fix is to use Pacifist.
Let’s get one thing straight. I love Facebook. As a twenty-something west coast transplant it is a great way to keep up with my friends from high school, college and various places I have worked.
When the iPhone version of Facebook (iphone.facebook.com) was released I was psyched. Finally – a beautiful version of Facebook on my beloved mobile device. Upon looking through the iPhone version of Facebook I did catch a very weird ‘bug’ – it seems that Facebook is leaking protected identities of individuals posting/emailing content for companies.
Here is an example of what my inbox looks like on the regular version of Facebook.
And now look at the iPhone version of Facebook. Instead of the sender’s name being set to ‘Apple Students’ it is being set to Elizabeth Chapin who probably works over at Apple with their Facebook group.

Not good Facebook. Not good.
I just got a message from an engineer at Facebook that they have fixed the bug. Nice turn around time!
