  2. Questions From the One and Only Brock Boland

So at the end of January 2007 (so about 6 months ago) Brock asked me a few survey-ish questions about myself.  I copied the questions into Movable Type and said to myself "When I have the free time I’ll answer them."  Each time I would write a new blog post I would go ahead and look at the questions and still haven’t spent the time to write a response.  So today I finally sat down and did it.  Done.

    1. It is snowing here right now. It is not snowing in Campbell. Write a four-page essay on why this sucks for me.  By the time I have gotten around to writing this it is no longer snowing in D.C. but can the weather possibly be as nice as it is in Campbell now?  Humditiy sucks, huh?  I know that I don’t have the time to write a 4-page essay (I think the last time I was told to write an essay was in college!) but I can sum it up very quickly:  Move to the bay area.  The weather is amazing.  There is lots to do.  The job opportunities are endless.  Ryan and I rock.  Case closed - I’ll take the D on my ‘essay’ because I didn’t fulfill the length requirement.
    2. You win a million dollars, but find out after you spend it that you were not the rightful winner and must return it all. What country do you flee to? Australia no doubt!  I would make friends with the kangaroos and go swimming.
    3. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to? Sarah Doherty is not an option. What about Sarah Boland :)  Others I would go for Sarah Depp (Johnny Depp!) or Sarah Jobs (Steve Jobs).  I can’t think of any others.
    4. What’s one thing you wish you could tell your 12 year-old self?  Stop thinking years into the future.  Enjoy each day and live it to its fullest.  Stop worrying!  Just relax and enjoy everything and be spontaneous.
    5. Name one thing you miss about college and one thing you really look forward to.  Like almost everyone else that I have talked to post-college I really miss the people and the spontaneity.  I miss not knocking on your apartment and just bursting on in - there was always something going on!  I miss the late night drives with friends to Tahoes or just to do something.  Living in the Bay area (and I’m sure its the same in D.C.) friends are spread out across the region so pulling people together takes effort.  And most people are exhausted by the end of a workday and don’t want to hang out.  One of the things I really look forward to now that I am out of the college ’scene’ is traveling more.  Although college gave us nice long breaks, we never had the money to afford the trips.  Now I have the money but lack the time … hmmm …
