  2. A Random Act of Kindness

As Ryan and I were driving to YEP (Yahoo! End of Year Party) I was coming down with a pretty bad cold/flu (which ended taking its toll on me to the point where I lost my voice completely and could only whisper). Needless to say that night, my head was pounding and I had forgotten to take some Advil.

We stopped off at the first gas station we could find and went in to buy Advil - the total cost? $0.50. Of course, we didn’t have any cash/change on us and Ryan was about to hand over his debit card to the cashier when he shook his head and said "No, no. It’s free. Have a great evening."

This simple, kind gesture left me thinking for the rest of the evening and into this week. Why don’t I see these type of small acts of kindness anymore? Something so small can mean so much. Thanks Mr. Cashier and I promise I’ll be passing around that kindness in South San Jose.
