I’m quite the absent minded blogger, if I do say so myself. However, I have been wanting to journal this impressive voyage that Ryan and I will be taking over the next week.
Last week Friday, the movers came and packed us up and we were left with nothing more than a cheap futon mattress we picked up off of Craigslist for $20, some clothes and two $3.99 IKEA lamps. With this in mind we travelled down to Long Island for a relaxing time with my parents.
Travelling back up to Rochester after our short vacation in Long Island we were greated by all too much rain to a point of flooding. Route 17 was closed after Roscoe due to Walton being almost flooded. Our 6 hour trip back to school turned into 10 in an adventure we will never forget.
Come Thursday, we started out on our cross country voyage. First destination was Michigan where we landed in Ann Arbor and got to spend a wonderful evening/early morning with my cousin Lauren and my aunt and uncle.
Today was spent travelling accross the rest of Michigan, a bit of Indiana and Iowa. For dinner Ryan and I faced bravery and decided to try out Iowa sushi – which is actually amazing!
Ryan and I have been trying to take a lot of pictures as we are driving. So …. don’t just settle for this one Iowa 80 picture — jump over to my flickr blog for the first two days of pictures: Day 1 (June 29) and Day 2 (June 30). My favorite so far has to be the bedwetting advertisement on the highway. I mean c’mon! More to come tomorrow ….
