  2. Spring Break 2006: Niagara Falls

Instead of sporting 2nd degree burn marks like last years spring break, I decided to keep it on the less dangerous side and hang out in Rochester for the week. The extra time allowed me to catch up on some sleep, make some money and hang out with the lovely boyfriend.

A friend of Ryan’s co-worker had a coupon for 100 pounds off a stay at any Marriott hotel, which we picked up for the cheap price of $50 (had to be used by April). Our original intent was to fly down to Florida with our free airplane tickets from AirTran and use the Marriott voucher there. Who knew that for airplane vouchers you have to book way in advance?

We eventually settled on driving up to Niagara Falls on Thursday, spending two glorious nights at the Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview & Spa. Our room had a king-sized bed, large 2-person whirlpool Jacuzzi, fireplace, and a stunning view of the falls right from our window. It was perfect.

The trip was absolutely wonderful. We spent some time doing sightseeing activities (Skylon Tower, the Falls Movie) and at night enjoyed gambling a bit (we’re high rollers - spending at max $14 Canadian).

So now its Saturday evening, and we are back in Rochester after the short drive back. Although it only spanned a few days, I would have to rank this as one of the best spring break vacations yet.
