About Me

About Me PhotoI’m a Long Island native, and a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, where the weather was dismal, the work was non-ending and snow was a four letter word. I have now relocated to the San Francisco Bay area (Campbell to be exact) where I hope to never encounter as many gray, depressing days that I experienced in my four consecutive years of Rochester life.

I am always open to new opportunities (print, digital media, communications, marketing and project management are my specialities) so if you think you have something that I will look feel free to drop me a message.

My days in Silicon Valley are spent working in marketing and hanging out with my fiancé, Ryan during the night. I am a self-professed geek, I love exploring the bay area, eating sushi, wine tasting, listening to music and meeting new people. Take a peek around the site and hopefully you like what you see.

About This Site

I originally purchased the domain name for this site a little less than two years ago, when Jay Discount, a good friend of mine, convinced me the need to create my own weblog with movable type. There were many things I wanted to get out of Movable Type at the time that left me very frustrated and lacking the knowledge and time to execute them properly. My site sat in a disarray until Spring of 2005 when I took Advanced Multimedia Publishing at RIT.

During the 10 week class two of our rather large projects was to make a blog and portfolio. I used Movable Type for both and the designated time that was given for the site development and creation allowed me to finally learn how to tweak Movable Type the way I wanted. Today the site is almost perfect. Some CSS errors needed to be tweaked for cross browser compatibility, but in general I was very happy with the site.

As of March 2008, I have moved over to using Wordpress. Since my lovely husband is the brains behind the website, moving over the Wordpress was a great way to take advantage of a system using PHP and MySQL (and stop having to constantly press ‘rebuild’) instead of MovableType commands (despite how easy they are to learn!) Moving over to Wordpress allowed us to do a bit of a redesign and gave Ryan the ability to revamp my HTML and CSS so it isn’t a hack job and is indeed, very good code. I do have to give Ryan quite a bit of credit because this did take awhile, but it looks pretty darn good. Hope you enjoy!
